Looking back, reflection on happiness
Amazing what a change in surroundings can do. Contrasting the new with the old, the sunlight-dappled tree lined bike routes with the fume infested hypersped freeways. I dwell among leaves, dreams and love, far from the prisons of aimless, distracted days filled with confused and empty words. Those surroundings, past and new are not me, and the happiness or distress I feel while experiencing them are merely impulsive reactions. If happiness can take seed within and grow limbs and vines without, separate from the influence of the outer world, then joy can be eternally maintained, through drought and monsoon, no matter the weather.
